so we'll close our eyes and pray.

after a long thumb-twiddling, brain-racking, pros-and-cons-weighing session via a multitude of whatsapp messages, bbms and phone calls to one another, the airlines, insurance agents and whatnots, we decided to forgo the trip tomorrow in view of the rising waters in BKK.
sigh. so many backorders to settle and manufactured items to be collected but we can only sit here and wait it out :(
better to be safe than sorry i guess.

to all our customers - apologies but the backorders for this collection cannot be confirmed yet until the situation there gets better! do be patient and wait for us to get things up and going again ok :)

in other disaster-related news, an earthquake shook turkey just earlier in the day. thankfully dad and mum are in the central area so they're still safe. keeping my fingers crossed and praying that they don't get caught in any aftershocks!
gosh. one disaster after another - i've always wondered if this is mother nature's way of keeping the world's population in check?

anyhow, when mum's not at home, i like to play mum.
went grocery shopping by myself and made breakfast the very next day for van and i.

pancakes, runny eggs and panfried ham.

sent a picture of this to the boy to show how domesticated i actually am (ahem, ahem), and all he replied was, "how come your pancakes so black one".
WALAOEH.

randomly, bought this chiffon shrug off a sale rack and am lovin' it to bits :)

in an upcoming willow item - casual wrap front dress in navy.
still deciding if i should also get it in heather grey, hmmm.
love that it comes with side pockets!

long day ahead tomorrow for kel and i as we try to settle all mails before Deepavali.
have a good mid-week break all of you! :)

xoxo,
sharon

hi babe, were you able to claim any form of money for forgoing the flight?

Anonymous said...

hello! what size does sharon wear for the fitted skirt that's on bo? :)

anon1: hi! jetstar allowed me to reschedule the flight because they wouldn't give me any refund if i cancelled. in any case, i do buy travel insurance so if i had cancelled, i should have been able to claim it back!

anon2: hi dear we don't have any piece on hand so i'm unable to try it out but i think i should be an L size? am gauging from the measurements provided so you can use that as a means too! :)

where did you get the shrug?

Hi Sharon I really like your dressing style! :) and Kelly's too of course!

What clothes do you recommend for girls with apple shaped bodies? im a UK 8 for bottoms, uk10-12 for tops. And i have broad shoulders too :( what options do I have other than wearing shorts all the time? and do you think I should wear sleeveless tops?

Thank you!

anon3: hi dear i got the shrug from dorothy perkins! think the sale is still on! :)

anon4: thank you for your kind words! :)

i think since your bottom is smaller than your top, you can balance it out by wearing full skirts to create the illusion of a fuller bottom? perhaps tulip-shaped pieces or a-line flare skirts, with a fitted top no less!

i am also a uk10 top and i always wear sleeveless because i think my arms look even larger concealed, haha! don't think you should shy away from sleeveless tops - a well-cut one will emphasize your curviness well :) just don't wear stuff which are too oversized e.g. huge flutter sleeves, shapeless tops, cos that would make your top seem even larger. i try to shy away from such items myself :)

that said, since you have a relatively small bottom, you should flaunt it! high-waisted stuff are your best bet. in any case, just make sure you feel comfortable and happy in what you are wearing - that's the most important! good luck in finding pieces that flatter your shape babe! :)))
